The Best Of The Whisky Range 〡The Auchentoshan Bartender’s Malt Limited Edition WhiskyApril 21st, 2021
There is a wide range of scotch whiskies that stand out on the market as some of the best, such as the Talisker 10 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl, the Glenfiddich 23 Year Old Grand Cru Whisky 70cl, or the Oban 14 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl.
The Auchentoshan Bartenders Malt Limited Edition Whisky is certainly one of them and is truly exceptional, standing out from the crowd and with some describing it as the best whisky they’ve tasted. We decided to take a look into its creation, its flavour profile and the distiller itself.
This 47% ABV single malt Scotch was not just created but was perfectly crafted down to every last detail. The Auchentoshan Bartenders Malt Limited Edition Whisky was designed by bartenders from across the world; three from Germany, three from the United States of America, two from the United Kingdom, two from Sweden and one from Canada. These are some of the most innovative bartenders the world has to offer and they came together in the city of Glasgow, Scotland, to develop and birth one of the world’s finest whiskies; the Auchentoshan Bartenders Malt Limited Edition Whisky.
The bartenders studied and learnt the art of blending and the science behind it from master blenders whilst utilising their expertise in knowing exactly what whisky drinkers want.
Being from the Lowlands, it is ideal for whisky-lovers but also for those who are not a huge fan of the peat taste. The prominent flavours of honey, ginger, brioche, apricot and milk chocolate are bold but complimentary tasting notes within the whisky to create the perfect blend of tastes that every drink deserves.
The flavours are nurtured in bespoke casks, chosen by the twelve bartenders, spanning decades and from across America and Europe, in addition to the red wine barrels and sherry casks. This whisky is unapologetic in its adventurous notes, with clear tastes of zest and cherry blossom coming through that have a long, warm presence. The scent is built of green tobacco leaves, dried apricots, honey and milk chocolate.
The stunning colour of the Auchentoshan Bartenders Malt Limited Edition Whisky is proudly untarnished with artificial colourings; it has a beaming natural copper, golden colour with very slight green reflections that are created through the maturation process in the different casks and barrels.
But the Auchentoshan Bartenders Malt Limited Edition Whisky is not unique in being carefully engineered; the plant itself was founded in 1823 by an engineer who manufactured the ‘inter alia’ distillery where this Auchentoshan Scotch whisky was born. Auchentoshan went through several periods of change and challenges, but they were met and overcame to eventually landing in 2016 where this limited-edition scotch was launched.
They are also one of the few distilleries left in the Lowlands of Scotland but are well known for their unique “triple distillation” process which increases the ABV%, giving it a unique 47% ABV.
The Auchentoshan Bartenders Malt Limited Edition Whisky is truly the world’s first, designed and crafted by experts, and it deserves the limelight of being recognised as part of an exceptional range of whiskies.
