Introducing the I Castelli Wine Range

A romantic tale from the heart of Veneto…

Cielo e Terra – the renowned Italian wine producer – was founded by Giovanni Cielo in 1908 in the heart of Veneto, a region in upper east Italy that stretches from the Dolomite Mountains to the Adriatic Sea.

This beautiful Italian region has long been celebrated for its canals, stunning gothic architecture, carnivals and of course, wine! But these aren’t the regions’ only claims to fame.

In the early 20th century, Giovanni fell in love with, and purchased a small fine wine making estate in Montorso, overlooking two castles. These two castles – known as the castles of Montecchi and Capuletti – were in fact the fictional homes of the two adoring lovers, Romeo and Juliet, whose romantic legend was narrated by Count Luigi Da Porto in 1530. Count Da Porto’s villa overlooked the two castles, just as Giovanni’s estate does today, and as such were the inspiration behind his novel.

Inspired by the estate’s stunning location and the romantic historic tale of two star-crossed lovers, the I Castelli range was born.

Consisting of Prosecco, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Soave, Bardolino and Pinot Grigio Blush, the I Castelli range offers something for everyone.

Ensuring the range echoes back to the region’s rich history and landscape, every bottle has two castles at the foot of the vineyard adorning its label – the very castles of Romeo and Juliet.

Since its inception in 1908 the winemakers have expanded their portfolio, working alongside 2000 different winegrowers across 3000 hectares of land creating a widely diverse portfolio of exceptional quality wines.

Cielo e Terra produces iconic Italian wines such Pinot Grigio, Prosecco, Soave, Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone; as well as a few well known global varietals such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
